No more mumbling: Focusing soundwaves for clearer announcements
HOLOPLOT has come up with a product that improves the clarity of announcements at train stations. The creators took on a problem that's all too familiar: Poor acoustics in stations and other public spaces. The start-up has designed a modular audio system that can focus soundwaves at specific (and selectable) spots within a given area.
The system can direct the sound to a specific group of people without others in the room hearing anything. Depending on their location, passengers hear the information that is relevant to them in an easy-to-understand way. Holoplot eliminates anxieties about missing connection announcements. Based in Potsdam, HOLOPLOT won the fourth round of the DB Accelerator funding program in 2016.
