Electric and guideless
Minibus for the way home
DB already carried out the first tests with driverless buses in Germany in customer service in an innovation center in Berlin-Schönberg and on a DB Schenker site in Leipzig in 2016. A first test in the public street area is planned for this year. The electrically driven shuttle vehicles, which can be operated without a driver, are intended for transport on the so-called last mile. The minibuses will in the future adapt their route according to demand. Passengers can be driven from the railway station directly to the front door, for example, using the autonomous buses. Eight to twelve people can be found in the shuttles.
