DB shows smart solutions for mobility and logistics
From 20 to 22 November 2017, Messe Frankfurt is organizing the first hypermotion. The fair sees itself as a platform for the digital transformation of transport, mobility and logistics. The event combines exhibition, conferences, workshops, talks and Hackathon.
Hypermotion brings together established companies from the transport and logistics sector as well as small companies, start-ups, mobility pioneers and entrepreneurs.
In the exhibition, Deutsche Bahn will be showing the automoti bus shuttle EZ 10 from Easy Mile and the Elektro TukTuk CleanMotion from Zbee. The vehicles are used under the umbrella of the new DB brand ioki to bring demand mobility and autonomous driving into public transport. The ioki team of IT and traffic experts, developers and product designers analyzes the needs, cities, municipalities and transport companies, provides regulatory approvals, and offers customer solutions from a single source: from accurate vehicle and routing concepts to digital platforms to provide passengers with the new Services. In October, the first autonomous bus service in Germany starts in Bad Birnbach, Bavaria. As part of the SmartCity partnership between DB and Hamburg, ioki 2018 is testing a driver-based shuttleservice in the open and Hanseatic cities with public transport connections.
DB Netz AG is presenting the Frankfurt Rhein-Main-Plus project. The program includes measures to improve suburban rail services, the Neubaustrecke Rhein / Main-Rhine / Neckar, the expansion / new motorway stretches Hanau-Würzburg / Fulda as well as the optimization of infrastructure nodes in the Frankfurt area.
DB also participates in the hackathon "Next Generation Mobility" from 18 to 20 November 2017. The DB Challenge is aligned with the actual / target and forecast data of S-Bahn Stuttgart. The actual / target messages of the passenger information systems about external influences on the operation of the S-Bahn Stuttgart should be put into context. At the same time, the accuracy of the forecasts which Deutsche Bahn derives from this for the operation management is of interest.
Berthold Huber, DB Board of Personnel Transport, and Prof. Dr. Dirk Rompf, Managing Director Network Planning and Major Projects at DB Netz AG will be speaking at the 5th ZEIT Conference on Mobility & Logistics on 20.11.2017 on the topics of digitalization, disruption and decarbonisation.
