DB Netze Stations

Our stations not only serve as gateways to the railway, but are also hubs for linking the different transport modes, as well as marketplaces and flagships of the cities and regions.

The activities of business units encompass the operation of the passenger stations as traffic stations as well as the development and marketing of train station areas. We are responsible for ensuring non-discriminatory access to our infrastructure. The number of station stops of non-Group customers has been increasing for years. Apart from structural measures, extensive service competence, a high level of safety, good customer information and functional route management come to the fore. There is also the strengthening of earning power from the renting business in particular at train stations with high customer frequency.

Railway stations are the gateways to Deutsche Bahn, but also the showpieces of cities and regions. Their appearance and services substantially contribute to customer satisfaction and to the attractiveness of rail transport.

As part of the "Infrastructure and Services" (VRI) Board Division of Deutsche Bahn AG, DB Station&Service AG is responsible for operating 5400 railway stations in the infrastructure and for the commercial utilisation of available space in nearly 800 station buildings.

Business units

DB Station&Service AG breaks down into the business units Operation, Leasing and Service. These business units cover all the requirements of railway undertakings entering our stations. The business units also provide a pleasant atmosphere in which travellers and visitors can feel safe and well.

The railway stations moreover offer a wide range of goods and services for travellers, visitors to the stations and for residents.

Railway stations form a central link in the travel chain, quickly developing into meeting places with their own large range of offerings in shopping, gastronomy and services.
