2017 CDP score: DB makes the A List
CDP evaluates companies' global climate protection activities and transparency in reporting
Deutsche Bahn (DB) has earned an the top climate score of A from the international rating organization CDP, and along with Canadian National Rail, is one of two climate-friendly rail companies in the world to make the 2017 A List. The CDP score measures companies' climate protection activities and reporting transparency. CDP is the world's best known climate protection rating list.
"DB is one of only two companies in the sector in the world to earn an A, which is the highest possible score," says Susan Dreyer, Director Corporate Engagement Europa at CDP. "It has gone to great lengths to earn the top place among rail companies."
"This result is something we can be proud of, and it will also serve as an incentive for us, as a company, to move our responsibility for climate protection forward," says Dr. Richard Lutz, Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of Deutsche Bahn. "We would also like to congratulate our colleagues in Canada for also making the A List."
DB is one of 112 companies in the world to earn an A. Only 5% of the companies evaluated by CDP made it to the top group. In 2016, 197 companies were on the A List.
CDP gathers companies' environmental data each year on behalf of its members, which include investors, companies and cities, representing some USD 100 trillion in assets. It has the world's most extensive collection of company climate data.
