Compared to travel by car or airplane, rail is the most environmentally friendly mode of transportation. For years DB AG has been improving the ecological footprint of its trains and of the company. Climate protection plays a key role in these measures.

Noise remediation at Deutsche Bahn

Deutsche Bahn has already built noise barriers along 387 kilometers of track and installed sound-proof windows in 46,400 homes. That’s 1,116 kilometers of track so far. A priority list shows the routes still in need of remediation.
