Sales and marketing organisation
RailNetEurope (RNE)
skip: RailNetEurope (RNE)RailNetEurope is the sales and marketing organisation of the main European railway infrastructure undertakings. RailNetEurope’s customers are railway undertakings that wish to travel beyond a country’s borders. RailNetEurope was founded on 24 September 2002, and has been based in Vienna since December 2003. This is where the Joint Office of its 29 international members is to be found.
The aim of RailNetEurope is to stimulate international rail transport, and to offer competent advice and an international distribution network to simplify cross-border network access. In accordance with EU directives, RailNetEurope is available like a single European rail network to all railway undertakings in matters concerning network access and train-path allocation. To this end RailNetEurope has built up an international distribution network: the One-Stop-Shops (OSS). Each partner country has a One-Stop-Shop that offers the customer advice on international rail transport, establishes the appropriate international train-path offer together with the customer, and arranges international coordination. The customer can choose what national One-Stop-Shop to use.
The range of products and services provided by the One-Stop-Shops extends from pre-constructed train-paths that can be ordered "off-the-shelf" by the customer to tailor-made international train-paths designed to meet the railway undertaking’s specific needs. In addition, the One-Stop-Shop offers advice on international access conditions, any certificates and permits that may be required, and will provide pricing information for the required train-path.
