Deutsche Bahn is your reliable partner, not only on long-distance routes, but also for regional and urban transport for your daily journey to work, school or wherever you want to go.

To make these journeys as pleasant as possible, DB uses state-of-the art vehicles which offer excellent comfort. Most of the fleet currently in use, from S-Bahn and regional trains to long-distance buses (coaches), have air-conditioning to keep you cool on summer journeys and prevent you from freezing in winter.

Modern drive systems ensure that the trains can cope with different demands in the different regions: from the steep gradients of the AlbBodensee-Bahn to urban transport, where fast sprints on the short distances between stops are a priority. On routes outside the metropolises, sophisticated trains travel at speeds of up to 160 kilometres per hour – making your journey not only more pleasant, but also faster.

On many local trains, for instance in Berlin/Brandenburg, Rhine/Main, Rhineland and Westphalia, double-deck coaches provide a modern passenger information system, spaces for wheelchairs, bikes and pushchairs, as well as toilets for the disabled.

The following brochure takes a look at the renewals that have been made in our passenger fleet since 1994. It contains photos and descriptions of many of the rail vehicles currently in operation, in particular the new additions to our fleet.
