Our exhibitions will take you on a fascinating journey through time, from the beginnings of the railway up to the present day. There are also numerous original vehicles waiting to be admired.

Grand special exhibition and vehicle show in anniversary year 2010

The year 2010 is the 175th anniversary of the first steam locomotive trip in Germany. To celebrate the event, DB Museum is staging a special exhibition and vehicle show with fascinating exhibits from international railway history.

The railway’s beginnings

The beginnings of railway history up to World War I

How did rail travel come to Germany? What effects did the introduction of this new transport mode have on people’s lives? In the first part of our permanent exhibition, many fascinating objects provide answers to the basic questions about railway history.

The Reichsbahn until 1945

The Reichsbahn in the Weimar Republic and National Socialism from 1920-1945

This period saw the founding of Deutsche Reichsbahn, the introduction of ground-breaking innovations and subordination of the railway to the Nazi regime. The exhibition shows what importance the Reichsbahn had for the war effort and the holocaust.

Vehicles 

Vehicle hall with ICE and Adler

A large collection of railway legends is on display in two vehicle halls.

The DB Museum has the largest collection of heritage railway vehicles in Germany. There are around 30 superb examples from the collection on display in Nuremberg.
