Locomotives and more
The DB Museum in Halle/Saale shows rare objects of railway history
![]() |
The famous Class 03 steam locomotive and the fireless locomotive from GDR days stand sedately next to what was once the Reichsbahn’s fastest electric locomotive, the Class E 18, and the Class VT 135 110 railcar, which is regarded as the predecessor of the railbus and the so-called “piglet taxi”.
Many of the vehicles on display have been in Halle for a long time. Some of them served the Halle locomotive test facility as experimental vehicles for the testing of new technical developments.
