The DB Museum is open from Tuesday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on weekends from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The museum is closed on Mondays. Please find below further information on opening times and admission charges of the DB Museum in Nuremberg.

Opening times

  • Closed on Mondays.
  • Open from Tuesday to Friday from9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Open on Saturdays, Sundays and on public holidays from 10:00 a.m.
    to 6:00 p.m.
  • Open on Mondays during the Nuremberg Toy Fair and during Advent.
  • Open on Easter Monday, Whit Monday, the Day of German Unity and on Boxing Day.
  • Closed on Good Friday, 1 May, 24, 25, and 31 December, and 1 January.
  • The library is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
  • From 1 November to 31 March the outdoor area is only open until 4:00 p.m. For safety reasons it is closed in case of ice and snow.

Free admission to the library.

School trips

Deutsche Bahn offers a programme for school trips to Nuremberg. The charge includes the following:

  • 2nd class rail journey to Nuremberg and back, including seat reservations,
  • 3 overnight stays with half-board,
  • bus transfer from the railway station to the accommodation and back,
  • admission to the DB Museum, plus
  • luggage and travel cancellation insurance.

Additional information

  • Almost all rooms are accessible to wheelchair users via ramps and lifts. There are four parking spaces reserved for mobility-impaired visitors next to the entrance. Level access to the museum is through the inner courtyard.  
  • Taking photographs without flash and making video recordings are permitted for private purposes. Photographs and recordings for commercial purposes are permitted following consultation on payment of a fee.
  • Dogs are not allowed in the museum.
