The last years have shown that both the market environment and our way of working with our suppliers have changed. In order to respond to the changed conditions and meet the demand for a new way or collaboration, we will introduce SMaRT (“Supplier Management and Rating Tool”).
What are the benefits of SMaRT?
SMaRT is an online platform to which not only our DB employees, but also you as our suppliers have access to it. Working together on one platform will increase the transparency within our procurement and enhance the communication between you and our purchasing units.
In detail, this means to you:
Login for suppliers:
- You can maintain and update your own company profile and contacts
- Upload your documents yourself whenever a new version is available
- Communicate with your DB contact via this platform
- Working together on tasks and improvement measures
The platform is offered in different languages that every user can set themselves. We therefore make the Deutsche Bahn AG more attractive to suppliers outside Germany.
When does „SMaRT“ go live?
We plan a staggered approach during 2018 for our three purchasing units. As an indication when you will be affected by the change, please see below rough plan:
- Rolling Stock and Parts: first quarter 2018
- General Requirements and Services Procurement: second quarter 2018
- Infrastructure Procurement: third quarter 2018.
If you are already an active supplier of the Deutsche Bahn AG, we will inform you in time about the exact go-live date. Suppliers being new to the Deutsche Bahn AG can register via the "Lieferantenregistrierung" (only in german) at any time.
Do I need to register again?
As an active supplier of the Deutsche Bahn AG we will migrate your account from the current to the new system in which you can then update your contact details yourself.
Who receives a login?
Active suppliers will receive their login via their e-mail address with which you have registered with in the first place. With this user you could then set up more users for colleagues in your company if needed.
I am a new supplier: when do I register via the former system, when via SMaRT?
Luckily you will not need to worry about this question. You will simply register via Lieferantenregistrierung. If you want to supply a product category that is already managed via SMaRT, you will be forwarded to SMaRT. Otherwise, you will be forwarded to the former system.
