Article: “helpukraine” ticket allows refugees to travel to any station in Germany free of charge

Deutsche Bahn (DB) is helping refugees from Ukraine to continue their journey in Germany. Today the “helpukraine” ticket has been made available. Ukrainian guests can receive this train ticket at all DB Reisezentrum travel centres and DB agencies in Germany. The free ticket is valid for travel on long distance, regional and local services to any destination station. This means that refugees can reach their families, relatives and friends all across Germany. DB is providing information sheets to let people know about the special “helpukraine” ticket. In addition, all regional and local trains in all of Germany can be used free of charge, with passengers only having to show proof of identity (passport or ID card).

Deutsche Bahn has set up information for refugees and other people on the website bahn.de/helpukraine and can also help people via the customer hotline 0049 (0) 30-2970 in several languages.

To keep informed of the situation concerning events in Ukraine, DB continues to liaise closely with the Federal Government, the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV) and the authorities at national and local level, as well as with partner railways in neighbouring countries.
