Article: Infrastructure

Prequalification for infrastructure procurement involves an eligibility assessment of suppliers/bidders in certain commodity groups prior to tenders. This means that a company's basic eligibility is examined in advance and independently of tenders as part of a "prequalification process PQ-Bahn" as per Section 48 of the Sector Ordinance (SektVO).

In many cases, prequalification is an entry requirement for participation in our awards, so we would like to give you a comprehensive overview of our prequalification procedure on this page.

Things to know about the prequalification process
  • Any interested and legally independent company must submit its own application (see Section 2 (3) of the process rules below).
  • Companies can draw on the capabilities of other companies and join forces to form an applicant community. Applicant communities are on a par with individual applicants within the approval system. The intended formation of an applicant community must be declared by all members prior to registration while naming the commodity group(s) and must be sent by e-mail to the entity performing the prequalification at lmpq@deutschebahn.com (see Sections 2 (5) and 3 (10) of the process rules).
  • If more than one prequalification is required for tenders by the Infrastructure division, companies that do not themselves have all the necessary prequalifications can draw on prequalified subcontractors. Please find an overview of all the prequalified companies for each commodity group below.
Overview of all the prequalified companies
  • After successfully completing the prequalification process, your company will be added to the list of prequalified companies of the Infrastructure Procurement which you can find above.
  • *The list uploaded on the specified date is non-binding and for information only. The entity performing the prequalification at Deutsche Bahn AG maintains binding up-to-date registers of prequalified companies. The contents of the list uploaded here may differ from the contents of the above-mentioned up-to-date register. No legal claims can be derived from this.
