Measure 1

Traveling with renewable power

Since 2018, travellers on all electrified routes in DB long-distance rail services in Germany have been travelling with 100 percent renewable power. With Climate +, DB logistics customers can also transport their goods on electrified routes using renewable power.

Quiet brakes at DB

Deutsche Bahn is continuing to reduce rail noise. For example, all DB Cargo freight cars in Germany are fitted with whisper brakes and are therefore quieter on the move.

Deutsche Bahn relies on renewable energy and energy-saving LED lights for its "Green Stations" - for example in Lutherstadt Wittenberg.

DB AG wants to reduce the noise from rail traffic for local residents. To this end, the company, in collaboration with the federal government, is relying on sound-absorbing noise barriers as part of its noise prevention and voluntary noise abatement efforts.
